You can sign up for Children's Summer Reading either in the library or online using our signup form.
Dig Into Reading! Information for Parents
The Library's Summer Reading Program is in progress -- so far we've registered over 1,100 children! SPR runs from Thursday, June 6 - Saturday, August 3 and it's appropriate for children of all ages. It's a fun early literacy start for young children, and studies show it is one of the best and most effective ways for school age children to reduce summer brain drain.
Register in the Children's Room or online any day throughout the summer. Kids of all ages read or are read to for chances to win coupons, books & prizes (while supplies last; all prizes are subject to availability and may change at any time).
Weekly prizes for "Ten Book Check Out" will include gift certificates to the Akron Zoo, Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Rec or the Cuyahoga Valley Railroad. Detailed information will be available at the time of registration.
Dig Into Reading! Free Family Programs
Tuesday, June 18 @ 6:30. World of Difference presents "A Treasure Trove of Asian Tales" at the Library for children of all ages, especially preschool+ Registration is not required.
June 25, July 2, 9 & 23 at 6:30. Family Storytime, at the Library for children of all ages. *July 23 will be a special Family Party*
Thursday, July 11 @ 7:00. Out of Hand Entertainment presents Juggling & Magic at the Cuyahoga Falls Riverfront Stage before "Flicks on the Falls"
Tuesday, July 16 @ 6:30. Mad Science presents "Fire & Ice" at the Library for children of all ages. Registration is not required.
Wednesday, August 14 from 6:00 - 8:00 (rain date 8/15). Quidditch Tournament for children going into 4th - 9th grades. Registration begins Monday, July 15; last day to register is Wednesday, July 31. Details will be provided at the time of registration. *Tournament will take place at the Hudson Library*
Dig Into Reading!
Wacky Wednesday: June 19 & 26, July 3, 10, 17 & 24 @ 11:00 for ages 3 - 7. Weekly art, craft or science fun. This program will begin promptly at 11:00 each week. Registration is not required.
Terrific Thursday: June 20 & 27, July 11, 18 & 25 @ 2:00 for ages 8 - 12. Weekly art, craft or science fun. This program will begin promptly at 2:00 each week. Registration is not required.

AWE Computers
Thanks to the generosity of The Friends of the Cuyahoga Falls Library, the Children's Room has seven new touch screen game computers, just in time for the start of Summer Reading Program on June 5! Five of them are AWE Early Literacy Stations with games that are appropriate for children ages 3 - 8. And we have two additional new AWE AfterSchool Edge computers with games for children ages 8 - 12. So when the heat index is over 100 this summer and you need a place to stay cool, the Children's Room is the perfect place to read, play and relax!
