Carts in Encore and the Classic Catalog

Both Encore and the Classic Catalog have a "cart" feature. The cart is for temporarily storing a list of titles so that you can view and email the list and, in the Classic Catalog, place reserves on several things at once. The cart is only temporary, so anything you put in it now will be gone next time. Your cart will be emptied if you close all the windows of your web browser software, or if you don't click on anything for 15 minutes (Encore) or 10 minutes (Classic). Also, the cart is not a way to ask the library to pull books off the shelf for you.

Encore
How to put something in your cart: Click "add to cart".

How to view the titles in your cart: Click on "my cart" near the top left corner of the screen.

What you can do with titles in your cart: Email them to yourself or to someone else.

Email formats: You can email the list of titles in your cart in either brief format or full format.

Brief gives you the title, author, shelving location, status (whether it's on the shelf), and the format.

Full gives you those things plus all kinds of notes; these might include a summary, a list of contents (such as titles of songs that are on a CD), and more.

Classic Catalog

Export saved: Use the "export saved" button to view a list of the titles in your cart and to "export" this list (in various formats) to sent it as an email, or view it on the screen, or save it to your computer. "Export saved" will also allow you to remove some or all the titles from your cart.
